Founded in 2008 by web hosting veteran Trey Gardner, GreenGeeks emerged in Santa Monica, California, with a pioneering mission: to make web hosting environmentally sustainable. Alongside Gardner, COO Kaumil Patel, with his extensive background in hosting operations, plays a key role in driving the company’s success.

GreenGeeks sets itself apart with a strong commitment to the environment, using renewable energy credits to offset three times the power consumed by its clients’ websites. This innovative approach not only positions GreenGeeks as a leader in eco-friendly hosting but also underscores its dedication to making a meaningful environmental impact.

Is GreenGeeks a good web host?

GreenGeeks review - website screenshot

GreenGeeks sets itself apart in the crowded web hosting space with its commitment to sustainability. The company offsets 300% of the energy it consumes by purchasing renewable energy credits, making it one of the most eco-conscious choices in the industry. But that green mission doesn’t come at the cost of performance.

In our testing, GreenGeeks delivers solid uptime, fast loading speeds, and responsive customer support. It’s built on a modern stack — including LiteSpeed servers and built-in caching — which helps ensure consistent performance for WordPress and other CMS-based sites. Their support team is knowledgeable and accessible, and the onboarding experience is beginner-friendly.

That said, GreenGeeks isn’t the cheapest option on the market, and some of its advanced features (like object caching or staging environments) are only available on higher-tier plans. Still, for most small business owners and website builders, the platform offers a great mix of performance and peace of mind.

If environmental impact is part of your brand or personal values, and you want hosting that doesn’t compromise on reliability, GreenGeeks is a smart and sustainable choice.

How reliable is GreenGeeks’s uptime and speed?

GreenGeeks demonstrates reliable uptime and solid speed performance, backed by several key features. Built-in caching reduces server load and improves page delivery times. HTTP/2 allows faster data transfer between server and browser. Global CDN integration helps lower latency for international visitors. Combined, these features give GreenGeeks the ability to deliver solid hosting performance for most use cases.

Does GreenGeeks keep your websites secure?

Yes, websites hosted at GreenGeeks are safe. The hosting provider implements a range of security measures designed to protect your data and ensure website reliability. Key server security features include:

  • DDoS protection, which shields your site from malicious traffic.
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF), which blocks potential threats before they reach your site.
  • Automatic Malware Scanning, which identifies and removes harmful code to prevent damage.

Daily backups are included as a standard feature, allowing for quick restoration of your website in case of any issues. Additionally, GreenGeeks offers free SSL certificates with an easy installation system, enabling users to secure their websites effortlessly. This encrypts communication and protects the data exchanged between your site and its visitors.

With these measures in place, you can trust that your website is well-protected against online risks.

How helpful is GreenGeeks’s customer support?

GreenGeeks provides 24/7 customer support via phone, live chat, and email. The knowledge base also includes step-by-step guides and troubleshooting tutorials. Users consistently praise the support team for fast responses and clear solutions.

GreenGeeks Customer Support

Is GreenGeeks’s pricing worth the value?

GreenGeeks’ pricing is competitive, especially at the sign-up level, which starts at $2.95/month for basic shared hosting. This plan is packed with value, offering a free domain, daily backups, a web application firewall (WAF), and 24/7 support—making it a strong choice for beginners or budget-conscious users. One major highlight is their eco-friendly initiative: they purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) to offset three times their actual consumption, which is impressive for users prioritizing sustainability. Their higher-tier options, like VPS and dedicated hosting, start at $39.95/month and $169/month, respectively, offering more advanced resources for those with heavier workloads.

However, the renewal costs are significantly higher, which can make GreenGeeks a pricier option in the long run. Shared hosting renewals start at $11.95/month (see screenshot below), nearly quadrupling the initial price, which may surprise customers when it’s time to renew. Despite this, for those seeking a host committed to environmental impact while delivering essential features and reliable performance, GreenGeeks can still be a valuable option. Their competitive feature set and eco-initiatives may justify the costs for users who prioritize sustainability and a well-rounded package.

What do users think about GreenGeeks?

Based on customer feedback from HostScore, Trustpilot, and G2 – overall user satisfaction with GreenGeeks displays a mix of positive and negative experiences.

Many users have expressed satisfaction with GreenGeeks’ services, particularly appreciating the ease of switching to this hosting provider. Numerous long-standing customers commend GreenGeeks for their dedication to ongoing enhancements and consistent server reliability.

However, there are also instances of dissatisfaction among some users with most criticisms focusing on customer service and difficulties in canceling their GreenGeeks subscription. Readers who are considering hosting with GreenGeeks should look closer at these matters.

For additional insights, please refer to user reviews section below.

Is GreenGeeks a good option for beginners?

Yes, GreenGeeks is a great option for beginners looking to launch a website with ease. With lowest shared plan starts at just $2.95/month, the web host strikes a good balance between affordability and essential features. This plan includes automated SSL deployment, nightly backups, and email hosting – everything a new user needs to start safely and securely. For those looking to grow, GreenGeeks provides scalability options, allowing users to upgrade to VPS hosting as their site expands.

GreenGeeks Webinar

Additionally, GreenGeeks supports new users with a comprehensive knowledge base and tutorials, as well as live webinars on topics like cybersecurity, speed optimization, and UX. These resources make it easy for beginners to learn and improve their websites, even without prior experience.

Is GreenGeeks a good choice for small businesses?

With a range of scalable plans, from shared to VPS and dedicated hosting, GreenGeeks is a good fit for small businesses. Their eco-friendly approach, which includes purchasing renewable energy credits (RECs) to offset three times their energy consumption and planting a tree for every account they provision, is a great match for businesses that want to make a positive environmental impact.

Is GreenGeeks suitable for web developers?

GreenGeeks may not be the best choice for web developers. While it does provide some developer tools, like Git, WP-CLI, Drush, and basic support for MySQL, Perl, Node.js, and Python in shared hosting environment, these are more suited to general website management rather than complex development needs.

The platform lacks critical features like a built-in staging environments, advanced server configurations, and support for additional development frameworks (for instance, Ruby, Docker). While SSH access is available, it doesn’t offer the deep control that many developers require for tailored server configurations. For developers seeking a flexible environment with customization options, GreenGeeks may feel restrictive compared to more developer-oriented hosting providers.

Can you host custom email with GreenGeeks?

Yes, you can host your own email accounts with GreenGeeks. This significantly reduces your costs by eliminating the need for expensive third-party email services.

How easy is it to get started with GreenGeeks?

The onboarding process for GreenGeeks is smooth but can be better. If you are registering a new domain at GreenGeeks, they will charge an extra $9.95/year for your WhoIs Privacy. This feature is free for life if you register your domain with NameCheap instead. Other than that, the process is pain-free, and I especially like that they don’t pressure you into taking on other services as part of the package.

More About GreenGeeks’ Go-Green Practices

GreenGeeks is committed to reducing its environmental impact through substantial eco-friendly practices. To counteract the high energy usage of data centers, the company matches 300% of its consumed energy by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. For every unit of power it uses, the company reinvests three times that amount in renewable energy, offsetting not only its own carbon footprint but also that of two similar-sized companies.

What impresses us is that their commitment goes beyond just marketing. Our research traced back their renewable energy purchases, with records dating back to 2009 and as recent as June 2024 (see screenshot below). If reducing your carbon footprint matters to you, GreenGeeks is an excellent choice.

GreenGeeks EPA Partnership

In addition, GreenGeeks partners with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every hosting account created, contributing to global reforestation. Since 2008, GreenGeeks has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a Green Power Partner, a testament to its dedication to sustainable hosting practices.

Does GreenGeeks offer a free trial or refund guarantee?

Yes, GreenGeeks offers a 30-day free trial period. If you are not satisfied with their services for any reason, you can cancel within this period and receive a full refund.

What features does GreenGeeks include?

Which control panel does GreenGeeks use?

GreenGeeks uses cPanel as its main hosting control panel. cPanel manages domains, email accounts, databases, and backups from one interface. Most users find it familiar and easy to navigate, which makes onboarding smoother if you’ve hosted elsewhere before.

That said, cPanel has seen regular price hikes since its acquisition, and hosting providers often pass these costs down to customers. If you’re on a VPS or reseller plan, keep in mind that your monthly bill may rise as license fees increase.

Where are GreenGeeks’s servers located?

GreenGeeks operates servers in North America, Europe, and Asia. Specific data centers are located in USA, Canada, Netherlands, and Singapore. A server location affects latency — hosting in the USA reduces response time for North American visitors, while servers in Europe or Asia improve speed for customers in those regions. If your audience is global, pairing GreenGeeks’s servers with a CDN helps deliver consistent performance worldwide.

Does GreenGeeks scale well with traffic spikes?

GreenGeeks delivers built-in scalability for shared hosting accounts by allowing users to upgrade to higher-tier plans on the same platform — increasing CPU, memory, and I/O as needed to accommodate growth. This makes handling traffic surges smoother, so long as your site remains within the upgraded tier. The platform is built on SSD RAID‑10 storage, LiteSpeed and MariaDB servers, and LSCache/fire‑and‑Forget caching technology, complemented with a global free CDN (Cloudflare) and support for HTTP/3 — all designed to deliver consistently fast performance under load.

However, unlike some other modern platforms, scaling at GreenGeeks isn’t automatic. You need to monitor your server performance actively and act on alerts or manually upgrade. For long-term scalability, their VPS or cloud solutions would be the next step.

How does GreenGeeks handle backups and restores?

GreenGeeks provides daily backups and allows one-click restores. The backup system stores snapshots automatically, which means you can roll back to an earlier version of your site if needed.

Does GreenGeeks include free domain and SSL?

GreenGeeks includes a free domain name with all shared hosting plan. This helps beginners start a website without extra cost.

Every site hosted with GreenGeeks includes a free SSL certificate, ensuring encrypted connections and baseline site security at no extra cost. This saves users both the expense and the hassle of purchasing and configuring SSL separately.

Does GreenGeeks offer free website migration?

Yes, GreenGeeks offers free website migration. The migration service transfers your files, databases, and email accounts from your old host to GreenGeeks without extra cost. This saves time for beginners and reduces the risk of errors when switching providers. Free migration is especially useful if you run WordPress, WooCommerce, or other CMS-based sites that require careful handling.

How much does GreenGeeks cost?

GreenGeeks offers multiple hosting types, including Shared, VPS, Dedicated, and Reseller Hosting. Prices vary depending on features like server storage, memory, addon security protections, and contract length.

GreenGeeks Plans & Pricing

Hosting Type Signup Price Renewal Price
Shared Hosting $2.95 – $8.95/mo $11.95 – $26.95/mo
VPS Hosting $39.95 – $109.95/mo $39.95 – $109.95/mo
Dedicated Hosting $169 – $439/mo $169 – $439/mo
WordPress Hosting $2.95 – $8.95/mo $11.95 – $26.95/mo

What Should You Know About GreenGeeks’s Pricing Structure?

GreenGeeks uses a signup-renewal pricing model. Plans appear cheap at signup ($2.95/mo for basic shared hosting), but renewal prices rise to the standard rate ($11.95/mo). You should compare both signup and renewal costs to understand long-term value.

Note: Because hosting fees change regularly, always confirm the latest GreenGeeks prices on the official site before signing up..

What is GreenGeeks’s refund and cancellation policy?

GreenGeeks provides a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting services, allowing customers to receive a full refund if they cancel within the first 30 days, excluding domain registration and setup fees. After the initial 30 days, no refunds are provided for quarterly, one-year, two-year, or three-year plans. Customers wishing to cancel must submit a cancellation request via a form, and confirmation is required through email. Account renewals occur automatically unless a cancellation request is submitted before the renewal date.

Final verdict: Should you choose GreenGeeks?

GreenGeeks offers something most hosts don’t: environmentally responsible hosting backed by solid technical performance. The company offsets its energy usage by purchasing three times the amount in renewable energy credits — making it one of the most eco-conscious choices on the market.

In terms of service, GreenGeeks does more than just plant a green flag. It delivers good uptime, fast page loads (thanks to LiteSpeed), and daily backups on all plans. WordPress runs smoothly, and their support team is quick to help with both basic and technical issues.

That said, the platform isn’t the cheapest — especially once you move past the first billing cycle. Some higher-end features are also locked behind upgraded plans, but for the average site owner or small business, the base offerings are more than enough.

GreenGeeks is an easy pick if you’re looking to reduce your carbon footprint while still enjoying modern hosting tech. It’s ideal for WordPress users and small businesses who want to align their hosting with their environmental values.

The techs are always knowledgeable and fix things quickly. This is my favorite hosting.

We have been using Greengeeks for over ten years and have found them to be good, responsive web hosts. Quick response to service requests – web chats seem to resolve issues, and people are available when needed. Canadians can specify Canadian servers if required. Never any issues.

One of the most important aspects of a business from a client perspective is customer support. GreenGreeks has it down to an art. On the chat they asked my issue, they resolved the issue and verified all good. All without the unnecessary questions that most businesses force their employees to ask while wasting your precious time. Love them and glad I was recommended them. Thank you GreenGeeks 5 stars to you.

I had a wonderful experience with GreenGeeks! The support team was incredibly helpful, quick to respond, and went above and beyond to solve my issue. Everything was smooth and professional, and I truly appreciate their friendly approach. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable web hosting with excellent customer service!

When I contact GreenGeek’s customer service, I receive help almost instantly using their chat feature or when I call them by phone. They listen well and provide solutions with such care…you can tell it in their voice or chat. Very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend GreenGeeks for their hosting services and excellent customer service.

I’ve been a loyal GG VPS customer for several years, consistently opting for their premium VPS services. However, my website has been unexpectedly down for the past 11 hours. Despite raising a ticket (Ticket #LQG-679-58920), the only update provided is a generic ‘team is working on it.’ This prolonged outage has severely impacted my business, particularly during our crucial sales season.

As a tech company, GG VPS should have a robust backup plan to prevent such prolonged outages. Unfortunately, I still have no clear indication of when this issue will be resolved.

    Worst company ever.
    Clueless support team.
    Limited features.
They lure you in with their low prices and when your site gets more traffic, they make up random rules and threaten to shut down your server if you don’t switch to their VPS services.

    Stay way.

Been hosting with GreenGeeks for years now, and while they are not the cheapest, whenever I had to deal with their support (technical and other) they have been excellent (fast, reliable and super on the ball).

Also, one key factors was that they are Carbon negative (“When we say that GreenGeeks is 300% Green Web Hosting Powered by Renewable Energy, what does that mean? It means that for every kilowatt of electricity that we draw from the power grid, we return three kilowatts in the form of wind and solar energy.”).

  10. Yes, Recommended

Greengeeks give a fast and complete service support when you have a problem or setting question. It is make several years that I make business with them and I am a very happy customer. I recommend strongly Greengeeks to others. And I can say that their price is very competive compare to other company such GoDaddy… I think in my opinion that is better than GoDaddy.

  11. Yes, Recommended

Prompt support response, always. And they really stuck with me during the migration and set-up process.

  12. No, Not Recommended

First time I signed up it was like 100$ for 3 years. My auto renew was nearly 400$! I eventually went through their cancellation spiel and they tried to offer me a paltry discount. There is no link in their site to the cancellation page so I couldn’t do it earlier. There is no refund on cancellations, even for time unused in the renewal period. I feel like Ive been scammed. Here is their cancellation page. https:!!my.greengeeks.com!cancel

GreenGeeks delivers the deal i pay for, and more. I rate the service 5 stars for even when they need to update their system, like recently, they let you know in good time. If you have question, the support always answer quickly. I never had a problem with my website and domain since migrating to Greengeeks two years ago

I don’t know too much about websites even though I work with computers so I was worried that the transfer of my content would be painful or that real people would be hard to reach. But Angela helped me with all the confusing things I was having trouble with and we got it sorted right away. Responsive and pleasant. I’d recommend GreenGeeks to anyone.

Great, quick, pretty much excellent customer support. Thank you very much.

For me, technical knowledge, willingness to help and prompt replies are the basic measures by which I judge the worth of a website host. Greengeeks have them all in spades. From handling the transfer of my site from a hopeless previous host, and then supporting me through the creation of a temporary staging site. All of which required a lot of help throughout April and May 2024. Endless patience, simplifying understanding of complex technical issues etc etc. Could not have done it without them. Goodonya Guys and thanks

I had heard that once I signed up for hosting at GreenGeeks, they would send a series of emails, once of which needed to go to my webmistress so she could log in to manage my account. To her surprise and mine, they now have a great feature that lets you have immediate access to your new account! That saved us a fair amount of time getting started with the migration of my business account, which I appreciated very much.

HUGE issue with email right now. Some client websites suddenly stopped receiving any contact form messages from the websites hosted by GG with no warning. When I contacted GG, initially they where not very transparent or clear about why this was, other than to say that I needed to install another WP plugin to resolve this, which they assured me was for free. What they did not say is that the free version requires so much technical understanding to install, with such a long, convoluted, stressful, and time-consuming process to figure it out – that anyone not technically minded would be forced to install the annual paid for version, to make the setup easier. Apart from this, new customers BE WARNED that you will be required to go out of your way to have something as basic as an email contact form work on your website if you use Green Geeks hosting – as their email issue is a big deal right now. What’s the point of creating a website with them if the email doesn’t work? You need to be a tech-wizard to figure it out, or pay extra each year. A real pain. Sad as they have actually been EXCELLENT up untill now. I am reconsidering whether to continue with them after this. I will wait and see how many other websites email forms suddenly stop working with no warning. And I received no direct announcement from GG about this issue, until clients suddenly stopped receiving customer enquiries from the websites – losing them business in the process.

Due to a clients request, I needed to transfer her domain to a non-Greengeek domain host.
Greengeeks told me that they offer no support at all for moving a domain AWAY from GG. That is none, zero, nada, no help at all.
Now if I wished to transfer domains to GG, well then they rolled out the carpet!

After asking reps to account for an email they sent that stated I would need to pay the invoice for a domain renewal if I wanted it renewed, I don’t get an answer. They keep stating their policy is for auto-renewal, but they won’t explain why the email I have states what it does. They take no responsibility for it and won’t listen.

Greengeeks ws recommended to me based on their customer service and pricing to host my website. The process was easy to sign up for, and it is my hosting platform, and my business emails are all in one place. Greengeeks’ website was easy to navigate, and their customer service is superb. They are quick to respond, and their follow-up is amazing to make sure that the issue is resolved. If you are searching for a new hosting company or want to change hosting platforms, you will be pleasantly surprised. I usually do not bother writing reviews, but this is the first time in ages that I wrote a review that shows how impressed I am with Greengeeks.

This is the worse web hosting company I’ve ever used. I signed up a couple of days ago. The techs are useless and migration of my site was impossible with one error message after another! I didn’t even wait a day. I immediately cancelled the service, which took another half hour. They don’t make it easy to cancel, with a form, confirmation, etc. Then comes the salt on the wound!! They send me a confirmed cancellation notice and a refund statement, however, my bank, which is one of the largest in the Nation, tells me no refund is pending. The bank immediately took off the charge. I called GREENGEEKS and they said the money was already refunded to the BANK, which was a total LIE! My bank had no transaction number! My bank told me no such refund came through, however, with all the proof I had in writing, my bank removed the charge. WHAT KIND OF LIE IS THIS, OR IS THIS A SCAM? GREENGEEKS are telling me MY BANK MADE A MISTAKE? STAY MILES AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTELY WORSE COMPANY I EVER HAVE DEALT WITH!!! I HAVE DECIDED TO CALL MY BANKK AND CHANGE THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER SO THIS TERRIBLE UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY DOES NOT EVER IN THE FUTURE TRY TO USE MY CREDIT CARD. THIS IS A RECOMMENDATION FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THIS COMPANY!

Or maybe I should say, you can’t not go right with Green Geeks.

GreenGeeks will migrate your websites from servers without communicating via email nor opening a support ticket.

Apparently, they only the internal notification system of the dashboard. When I asked support representative, I’ve been told that they no longer send emails, and that I should “keep an eye on the notification area under Dashboard.”

So if the customer doesn’t login to GreenGeeks, they will not be notified about any changes to the account?

This issue caused me several days of outage on an important client website. I’ve been working with GreenGeeks for over 2 years, and I’m incredibly disappointed their services and support dropped to such a degree.

Will be moving my websites out and I would advise anyone who values reliability and communication with their hosting company to do the same

When relying on technology very little is more important than the speed, efficiency and courtesy of tech support. (Or any other support for that matter). GreenGeeks shines.

if you’re providing web-related services to clients, you want partners/providers who take your business as seriously as you do. This is them.

As the title says, I spent 23 years with what eventually became a Newfold Digital acquisition. As a legacy account, I increasingly found myself benefiting from legacy features that they didn’t turn off (catch-all email addresses, large storage capacity) and hobbled by the need for à la carte feature purchases, redirected support, and pay-for-support offers for problems that any web hosting company should have provided for free. After a long three weeks of php/MySQL nonsense this past May/June, I began the search for a new provider and found GreenGeeks had both everything I needed in place and provided me support for a few things I wanted on the side that other hosting companies said they would not do. Migration for two websites was easy and my downtime of switching hosting and email was on the order of a few minutes during the total process. The support is great, the loading times are a fraction of what they were with my other company, and I appreciate the green stance the company has taken. I’m very happy and think they’re well worth your consideration.

Customer Support is not helpful. I followed the tutorial on GreenGeeks website about meta-tags and wordpress. When the tutorial didn’t match what I was seeing I contacted customer support who couldn’t explain so my case was escalated. The reply I received,

    “Thank you for contacting GreenGeeks.

If you require assistance with website development, we kindly suggest that you reach out to a web developer to get the best possible support for your specific scenario. While we would love to provide more assistance, please understand that GreenGeeks does not provide assistance with website developmental issues, as outlined in the Scope of GreenGeeks Support.

Thank you and have a great day!

My website is developed I just have a specific question on the GreenGeeks instructions, but they keep kicking the can to someone else.

Great customer service. Meets all my hosting needs including the hugely important low environmental impact factor.

I have been working with web platforms and service providers since the BBS days in the late 70s and when I look for a service provider I just need a place that gives a fair price, no unnecessary bells and whistles, and just works. Offering LetsEncrypt and simplicity along with a knowledgeable support staff for when something glitches is perfect for me. I like a service that just works in the background and doesn’t spam or try to pretend they are a rock star business while just being “extra”.

UPDATE: as you can see in the greengeeks comment below, they did give me the “backup file” for my sites – however, this file did not contain critical information necessary for actually restoring my sites. I asked REPEATEDLY for just 1 hour of access to my account so I could recover YEARS worth of my work, which was promptly refused and ignored.

GreenGeeks permanently suspended my account, so I no longer have access to the websites I’ve build and worked on over the past 10+ years.

They literally deleted my business overnight without any warning, and dont even have the decency to give me access for one single hour so I can recover all of my files and work.

I’m fine to leave your platform and go somewhere else, but let me at least recover my files so 10+ years of work aren’t permanently erased.

My business has been completely and utterly destroyed because of this trash company. I’ll be taking them to court.

To top it all off, they’re even refusing to give me a refund on their services, which I’ve prepaid for the next 3 years.

    Avoid at ALL costs.

This review relates to their managed VPS, which I have used for several years. Excellent uptime, excellent tech support. I had no problems with them but eventually had to leave because the price (which is very affordable compared to other hosts) was too high compared to what my business was making. So I switched to shared hosting elsewhere. If you’re looking for a managed VPS at a reasonable price point, GreenGeeks is definitely the place to go. I love that they have an environmentally conscious mission too.

Most of the time, the hosting worked OK, uses standard cpanel install, EXCEPT:
    – Sites would experience unexpected downtime and crashes.
    – Despite selling “wordpress” plans, they refuse to support database errors even if you hadn’t touched your sites for months and it’s clear the problem is on their end.
    – The biggest shafting is what you get at the very end when your term is up. Price goes up 3.5x what you originally paid 3 years ago AND THEY DISABLE BACKUPS, keeping you from leaving. They claim “unlimited storage” for the service but concocted a rule that said backups are disabled over 10GB and refused to enable it. And my account was below 8GB!

They are shady and conniving enough to motivate me to write this long rant. Stay away. These guys aren’t even good at business. Their dirty tactics motivated me to write this review AND it will cost them way more to acquire a new customer than to sign an old one up at a discounted rate. Good riddance.

    GREEN AND CLEAN !!

I have had GreenGeeks web hosting for over a year now and have experienced nothing but extreme help wherever I have needed it.
The team are very polite and go as far as they can to help with any situation regarding my hosting and other issues.
I like the fact that they help with the environment to keep our world clean.
I had many issues with 2 hosting companies before I joined GreenGeeks with their support teams and getting hold of them wasn’t easy.
Thank you Green Geeks, please keep going the way you are.

They might or might not be fine if you need a real website. I needed something minor, signed up at under $100 for 3 years. I no longer needed the site by 2022; they told me it would cancel automatically for nonpayment. In 2023, they warned of a massive data breach. Now it’s 2024, and they pop into my inbox repeately, trying to charge me over $400 for the bare-bones site that I told them to cancel two years ago, and never really used. Despite a medical crisis, I had to medicate so I could log in, log in from abroad on an unsafe network, and generally jump through hoops to unsubscribe. Due to the data breach, I of course could not trust the “just click here” links they kept sending. It’s great to be green, but you also have to be honest, competent, and good at safeguarding data.

When I needed help, I got it, the tech support was there and solved all of my issues.I am not a pro web developer, I just manage my own site and so I need a bit of assistance setting up it GreenGeeks made it easy.

I’ve been setting up my Apple mail client with my email, which always ends up causing problems. Jegen D. at Green Geeks, however, was amazingly patient and unblocking the server several times because of glitches in the setup. Green Geeks has some of the best customer support out there. I am always encouraging my friends to use them!

I paid for an entire year. Greengeeks canceled my account three days later against their terms and conditions, but I accepted that.
I have asked for a refund three times, and they still haven’t answered my emails. Why does Greengeeks want to keep my money?

NOT recommended!! We had two reseller accounts with them for 10 years, but we changed as the customer service went absolute down the pipe after COVID. Support emails were not proper read, we had to explain different issues twice or more. Probably a language issue as lots of their support personnel has Russian (or other east-European) names. Their servers are really not the fastest. We had to fight for a refund we were eligible for. Even an email (and message via Linkedin) to the CEO stays unanswered.

Good support and up-time. Support is very helpful with questions and assistance. When I transferred my site and domains to Greengeeks the support team was helpful in assisting me on the few questions and issues and that really helped get everything completed and working.

More like Greed Geeks, huge price increases, unethical business practice of advertising low monthly fees without informing those are very temporary and will go up more than 300%. Has a 7-Day limit on how long deleted emails will stay available as they will permanently delete them without notice.

The company page says “hosting in Canada”, specifies no currency, then charges in USD. I spoke to billing about this and they would not issue a refund for the difference so I asked to cancel my plan. Abhishek R. said he would not- even though the company’s website says 30-back money-back guarantee. It wasn’t until I threatened to get my credit card company and a consumer protection board involved that he finally relented and sent the information to cancel.

I don’t mind paying whatever is posted but fair is fair, and a company must disclose what currency they charge in, otherwise, the legal standard is local currency. The misrepresentation on price, and the customer service rep trying to pretend the 30-day money-back policy didn’t exist is unethical and very poor customer service.

Every answer in support comes from another agent, they are not reading full previous messages and not solving the real issue. Wasting time repeating the same thing over and over. They Disabled Virus scan at hosting and they offer me to pay more than 100 $ to clean the database. Avoid this hosting if you don’t want a headache.

Great company, easy setup, especially after an annoying experience with GoDaddy (I never ever was able to setup email on my iPhone with GoDaddy, even though the phone was brand new).
    Also very responsive, I recommend!
